Eorabus Lodge is situated almost on the shoreline of the Ross of Mull, beyond the central massif of rocky hills where wild deer roam visibly and eagles soar. The far-off winking light of Na Liathanaich and the occasional piping of the redshank and oystercatcher are all that will disturb your sweet night's slumber far from the madding crowd here in our comfortable holiday home. The roads are quiet - even the main road across the island is single track, the picnic spots many, the scenery varied and magnificent in any season...

The place is awash in history - follow in the footsteps of Johnson and Boswell, visit the burial ground of the Scottish kings (inc Duncan and MacBeth), see what inspired Turner, Mendelsohn and Wordsworth, roam through castles, caves and wilderness hills.

There's a distillery to visit, boat trips to the seals and whales and puffins, a little island theatre, idyllic sandy beaches. This is the land of wee Katie Morag and Robert Louis Stevenson and it's closer to Taransay than the city.

Search for green Iona marble, listen to Celtic/Gaelic singing, bring home some piece crafted by the local silversmith, watch the fishermen bring ashore the lobster and crabs destined for Spanish paella, linger long like the summer sunlight dipping down in spectacular crimsons so late the kiddies will think it never dark.

There is rather an old caravan beside the house which the owners take to Fidden Beach for use as a beach hut -cooking up lunch, changing for swims, sitting reading or playing cards when a squally happens along.
